STOUGHTON — Finance Committee approves prior minutes and continues town meeting hearings. Stoughton's Finance Committee under Chair Carolyn Campbell voted unanimously to continue public hearings for the Annual Town Meeting and Special Town Meeting scheduled for May 4, 2026, advancing the review to March 19. Committee members reviewed budget proposals including health insurance climbing from 12.7 million dollars to over 14 million dollars in FY27, a 2 million dollar increase attributable to AETNA retiree costs.
Southeastern Regional School's local assessment to Stoughton rose to 1.67 million dollars, with town enrollment at 117 students, an increase of 24. Public comment centered on the Park and Turnpike Street Intersection design, with residents expressing concerns about roundabout costs and traffic impacts on residential side streets.
