Finance Committee continues hearings on May town meetings, reviews FY27 budgets

STOUGHTON — Finance Committee advances multiple warrant articles for May town meetings. Chair Carolyn Campbell and the committee unanimously continued public hearings on the Annual and Special Town Meeting agendas to March 11, advancing capital requests including a 2.4 million dollar sewer main extension, a 2.99 million dollar Goddard Well project, and 450,000 dollars for sewer technology systems. Water and Sewer Superintendent Keith Anastasia reported that the sewer enterprise fund holds 2.9 million dollars in retained earnings and the water fund 1.9 million, and said the combined water and sewer budgets reflect a 4.42 percent reduction despite contract rate negotiations finalized last fiscal year.
