Library Trustees accept corrected minutes, address pipe damage and staffing gaps

Library Trustees · Meeting of April 14, 2026

STOUGHTON — Library Trustees approve FY 2027 budget with Finance Committee backing. Vice Chair Sheila Osborne, members Peggy Sewcyk, Rachel Lazerus, Susan Zbinski, and David Lambert, and Library Director Christopher McGhee discussed facility damage from a second-floor pipe leak and persistent issues in the children's area. The board raised alarm over constrained custodial and maintenance staffing: the library's sole daytime custodian works limited hours rotating among all town buildings, and maintenance staff member Arthur is retiring with no confirmed replacement.

Strategic planning sessions, including a 35-person in-person focus group, continue gathering input for a consultant-drafted goals framework.
