Planning Board approves senior housing zoning amendment, advances selective rezoning items

STOUGHTON — Planning Board backs senior housing zoning amendment and selective rezoning to Town Meeting. Chair Daniel Kelly and Vice Chair Paul DeMusz led the four-member board in unanimous votes to recommend the new Section 7.6 Senior Housing Development article, which includes revised density standards and affordable housing language, and to advance two of five proposed rezoning petitions: rezoning 2121 Central Street from General Business to Residential-Suburban C and rezoning portions of 600 and 614 Park Street from Residential-Suburban B to Industrial. Three rezoning items affecting Pearl and Canton Streets were removed by straw vote.
The board also continued the Sign Special Permit for 614 Park Street to February 24, 2026, as Town Planner William D. Roth, Jr. prepares a decision incorporating state electronic sign regulations.
