STOUGHTON — Select Board approves Hampton Inn innkeeper license after migrant shelter dispute. The board unanimously granted both a Common Victualler License and an Inn Holder License to PVG Five Hospitality d/b/a Hampton Inn at 449 Page Street on April 14. Town Manager Thomas Calter told the board that hotel owners had transformed the facility into a migrant shelter without notice, causing significant financial harm; the town requested state compensation but remains with an unrecovered gap.
Calter asked hotel representatives to contact his office to rebuild the relationship. The board also unanimously approved the Consent Agenda, including permits for the San John Filarmonica Society's June festival and parade, a September 19 road race expected to attract 200 to 300 runners to benefit the National Kidney Foundation, and the May 26 Memorial Day Parade.
