Select Board approves traffic and parking safety measures; closes town meeting warrants.
Select Board · Meeting of February 3, 2026
Stoughton Select Board approves traffic safety and parking restrictions on Elm and Page Streets. Chair Stephen M. Cavey, Vice Chair Debra Roberts, Joseph M.
Mokrisky, Scott Carrara, and Louis Gitto voted 5-0 to accept Police Department recommendations for Elm Street improvements, including narrowed T-intersections, a 20 mph safety zone, and commercial vehicle exclusion; a separate 5-0 vote instituted No Parking zones on Page Street totaling roughly 590 feet. A motion by Vice Chair Roberts to accept Pearl Street and School Street intersection recommendations failed without a second, but Carrara moved to have the Town Engineer study and plan improvements (approved 5-0). The Board closed warrants for the Annual Town Meeting (38 articles) and Special Town Meeting (23 articles), both scheduled for May 4, 2026 at 7 p.m.
Three utility petitions and a liquor license application were approved unanimously.
