Select Board continues SMAC compliance hearing to February 26

STOUGHTON — The Select Board continued a public hearing on alleged breaches by the Stoughton Media Access Corporation of its Access Agreement, rescheduling the proceeding to February 26, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. Chair Stephen M. Cavey reported that SMAC requested an extension while working toward compliance.
The board will examine whether the corporation breached five contractual obligations covering bylaws amendment, quarterly updates, annual audits, equipment inventory reporting, and capital budgeting, and may withdraw SMAC's designation, impose liquidated damages, or excuse the breach for good cause.
