Stoughton Equal Opportunity Committee approves permanent bylaw status and advances two major programs. The Attorney General approved Article 46 making SEOC a permanent committee within town bylaws, triggering recruitment of four new members through School Committee approval. Vice Chair Bettye Sabree presented the "Transition Circle" program for newly retired seniors, expanded to include technology and artificial intelligence modules after member input; governance will include a five- to seven-member steering committee with a paid coordinator.
Member Tamisha Civil introduced Porch Fest, a neighborhood music celebration scheduled for 2026, with the committee to refine logistics, draft applications, and investigate local bank sponsorships ahead of February presentation to the Select Board.
