Stoughton Youth Soccer League opens its online store and renews a push to fund Kolz Field upgrades.

STOUGHTON -- Youth soccer is the primary source of local sports news for the week of July 6-12.

YOUTH LEAGUES -- The Stoughton Youth Soccer League (SYSL) announced its online store is now open, with merchandise purchases supporting the league; SYSL said it earns 10% of all store purchases. The league also has registration open for its In-House program (Pre-K, Kindergarten, and Grades 1/2) and its Travel program (Grades 3/4, 5/6, 7/8, and 9/11), directing families to its website for details.

Separately, SYSL is continuing to advocate for improvements to the Kolz Field Complex, which the league says "lacks adequate drainage, often leading to field closure which negatively impacts schedules." According to the league, the Stoughton Community Preservation Committee has approved a grant toward the project, which needed approval at the Annual Town Meeting; SYSL's posted timeline calls for environmental engineering surveys and permitting to begin in fall 2026, with field remediation and reopening phased through spring 2028. The league said it must also raise an additional $40,000 as part of the CPC grant agreement and plans a community fundraising push.
