School Committee · Meeting of October 22, 2026

Stoughton's school budget panel heard that special education costs were outrunning FY27 plans. Assistant Superintendent of Finance and Operations Heidi Perkins told the Budget Subcommittee that out-of-district placements exceeded the $7,681,050 budgeted and that five unbudgeted paraprofessionals would add about $150,000. Circuit Breaker carryover fell to about $1 million, and Perkins said the district was "hoping not this year" to request SPED stabilization money.

Assistant Superintendent Jonathan Ford said a restructuring plan was designed for implementation next year. The subcommittee accepted minutes 2-0.
