Senator William Driscoll and Representative Edward Phillips told the board Tuesday that Stoughton is set to receive $1.149 million in Chapter 90 road and bridge funding — already headed to the governor — and nearly $32 million in Chapter 70 education aid for fiscal year 2027, a roughly $600,000 increase over the prior year. The Fair Share supplemental budget delivered $20,000 for Wilkins School athletic fields, $25,000 for Wyman Street curbing near the new community center, and $350,000 in general school capital funds, with $50,000 to $100,000 more pending in the House-Senate conference committee for both the Stoughton 300th celebration and community center improvements. Town Manager Tom Coulter announced that Moody's Investors Service is reviewing the town for a bond rating upgrade, with a formal presentation set for June 17, and credited the delegation with quietly securing a $2 million state grant that made the community center possible.
