STOUGHTON — February 26, 2026 — Stoughton Select Board continues SMAC public hearing to March 10 after attorneys report a tentative deal. Vice Chair Roberts read a prepared statement Thursday announcing that lawyers for both the town and the Stoughton Media Access Corporation — the nonprofit that runs the town's public-access TV station — have reached a tentative agreement resolving their ongoing dispute. The draft will go to both boards for approval votes before any terms are made public; once both sides vote affirmatively, a joint public meeting will be held to read the agreement to residents. Chair Cady, welcoming the development, said "everyone is looking to do things correctly rather than quickly" and called SMAC members "great partners."
